The SCORE Newcomer Contest was tighter than anticipated. Annie earned 1607 votes compared to Crystal Gunns' 1692, 85 less votes. At one point, Annie and Crystal were figuratively neck and neck in the on-line voting. 85 votes may seem a paltry number but keep in mind that thousands of readers and members just do not vote every year. So every vote was very important. Annie's "girl-next-door" appeal to both SCORE and V-Mag Guys is very powerful. This year's Newcomer contest is proof of that.
